HE "Tommy" Thompson loops the Sikorsky S-52 helicopter in 1949. First recorded helicopter loop from 8mm movie and stills. Thompson also set an international speed record of 129.616 mph in this craft. We found this Skycrane firefighting helicopter filling up with water for a fire a few miles away. We were about 200 feet away from it as it hovered over the river... close enough to get sprayed by the water it kicked up... it also threw up a lot of debris as it flew off!

Wildland Firefighters rappelling out of a Bell 212 HP at 225 ft. This is a "rappel proficiency" or practice rappel at the Livingston Airport in Montana. During an operational rappel these firefighters descend through heavy timber at heights up to 250 ft. to access forest fires quickly.

Mercy Air helicopter takes off from Antelope Valley Hospital, Lancaster, CA, approximately 1300PT 11/3/2007 after dropping off a patient for its ER. This video shows the helicopter ramping up and taking off to the north (along with an annoying white SUV that crosses the frame twice). I can confirm this Bell 222 (tail N402MA) is the same one I've seen based at the Mojave Spaceport (Mercy Base 14). Mercy Air units typically carry a flight crew of three: pilot, flight nurse and flight medic.
